Holy Moly

So, I've been trying to make it my mission to organize some photos on my external hard drive so, if anything happens (ptew, ptew), I can snag it and go. But I don't want to just save the photos because I've seen what happens if you don't label them properly. So much can get lost... sometimes just the date, but that's important too. So I've been snagging them from my family's blogs. So heads up there, folks! Keep blogging those pictures... After all, I do have something special planned for them... but it's a secret, so shhhhhh!

The house-hunting continues

For those of you that may not know, I'm considering the purchase of my first home. The problem quickly becomes that you have too many of options, so you spend a lot of time looking... looking... looking...

Bev Lopez has been absolutely fantastic. She has patiently taken me to house after house and has been really looking out for me... just like a mom! :)

We spent 4-5 hours Saturday and 5-ish hours today. Oy vey! I'm getting crabby, but in the same breath... it's been great. I have my spreadsheet going and I have lots of notes. Soon, I'm going to ask you, my family, to come along and give me your objective opinion. I know very well that sometimes I get overly excited and forget some important bits. :) Hope ya'll are up to it!!! LOL!!!

Crazy things that can lift your mood

Have you ever been driving down the road and some guy (or girl... It could happen!) is obviously checking you out and you play car tag all the way down the highway? Well, today was the second time it was seriously obvious... It lifted my mood so much! I mean, I was in the Monday-Stupid work computer system not working-It's so beautiful, why am I at work? kinda of mood and then this guy starts doing that thing. Oh, I'm sure he wanted me to roll down my window so I could shout out my number, but so wasn't in the mood. Plus, the size of his truck made me feel like he was "compensating" for something... if you get my drift. But it doesn't discount the emotional lift. Thanks, Compensating Guy!!!
P.S. The picture is pretty representative, but imagine one of those tool boxes in back and more chrome... LOTS more chrome!

Writing

For some reason... I just haven't found any time to write since my apprenticeship ended. I find it very, very frustrating! And the worst part is that I don't have anyone to blame, really, besides myself. I spend a lot of time screwing around... I really, really need to buckle down!!!

XBox Live

So, Brian was experimenting with XBox Live the other day... We've discovered that I actually did hook it up correctly and we can now play in the online community. He was extremely excited.

XBox Live also updated their system and Brian was, again, really excited. He, Becky and I all created our online Avatars... Then we experimented with watching Netflix through my XBox. I'll just say that it is pretty cool.

Brian's also into playing Halo 3 online. It's fun, but I suck at it! Becky and I got a little frustrated with who we were playing... but perhaps it's because I don't like to lose!

Here's Brian and my Avatars... I would have taken a pic of Becky's as well, but my camera ran out of batteries... darn camera!!!

Overtime has KICKED MY BUTT!

Last week, L&I offered 16 hours of OT to their claim managers to work on claim resolution. Mom and I decided that would be a nice chunk of change so worked 10 hour days during the work week and five on that Saturday.

Because Chris's truck isn't working currently, they only have one car. Kelly said she could drive him to the bus stop but they'd have to bring Allison as well. So Mom & I lef the house a little after 5am, picked up Chris, and brought him to his stop. Mom was extremely paranoid (and still is, let's be honest) about being late for Chris and making him upset, so was pretty pushy about getting out the door.

But we made it to work every day by 6am... except for Friday when we stopped at Top Foods and brought our units treats. (They currently think we're awesome!) It was just so LONG!!! Let's put it this way... Friday, I went by myself to WalMart and roamed around the store for at least an hour with no direction. Oy!

This week, L&I's decided to offer 30 more hours of OT over the next 3 work weeks and... just like last week... you can only work 10 hours per day max. Mom & I agonized over whether to do it or not because we've been really wiped! But if we have a full weekend, would it help? We're trying it out...

Part of the problem is that we just never get to see Kelly & Allison for THREE WEEKS so it didn't seem worth it. But now Kelly's going to work 4 - 10 hour days for next week and maybe the one after, so that would change stuff. And sure, Mom would have more money for Baltimore or the front room and I would have a great start for a house down payment... but is it really WORTH it???

Captain Dynamic

I'm not sure if all of you know this... but I love a little company called Rooster Teeth. They're based in Texas and they make my favorite web series of all time... Even beating out "Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog" by Joss Whedon! They've used Halo and make a sitcom... but, be warned... They are not shy about using bad language in their machinama series (meaning made using video games).

But they just started a new series called "Captain Dynamic." It surrounds a "hero" who plays in the video game "City of Heroes" who asks some writers/programmers to set up some custom missions for him. (That's a new thing that City of Heroes is doing.) Now, I won't say any more because I don't want to ruin it for you... but you should TOTALLY WATCH IT!!! Especially since, so far, they've been really good about the swearing!

The best part is that, since they're also posting it on You Tube, I can embed it here... :)

Episode 3

OK, and as another FYI... I've drafted a bunch of blogs, but I don't seem to be able to do them every day... so I'm going to do them all today. :)

Crap computers!!!

OK. Just did a blog about why I was mad at my work computer and my flash drive. Stupid things!

But now I just tried to upload that blog and it brought me back, saying there was an error, and I had to try and retype it again. Everyone knows that if it was funny the first time, it's never as funny the next!!!

Yeah. If you could listen inside my head right now, you'd be SHOCKED!!!

Rooster Teeth is awesome for so many things... This is just one of them!

I know I can go on for awhile...

So recently I decided to write Caroline... my friend from Vegas for those that don't remember... So I decided to be all cute because I had some pastel notebook paper and some fun stickers that I found at Target. Then I started...

THIRTEEN pages and almost 2 weeks later, I send off the silly thing! Oy! Hope I don't overwhelm her. Sometimes I just get carried away...

Here we go again

OK, I'm trying this again. Let's be serious, though. I'm not really a blogger. Unlike the rest of my family, I don't have kids to show pictures of... I haven't taken any big trips or anything. I'm really VERY boring right now. Plus, I've been trying to be more faithful in my journal writing, but why do that when I'm just blogging. It's really hard to figure out what to do...

The one really good piece of news is that I'VE FINISHED MY WORK CHECKING!!! It was my last step to complete before I could get my journeyman's card. It's been an EXTREMLY long two years and I appreciate all those who've listened to me whine about it. Now I just have to put in the time (until March 15th) and then I'm official. It's lovely!
